New Enemy (Devlog)


Someone suggested that I add a new type of enemy to the game and I already had a purple slime asset in the asset pack I was using (I had had to make the art for the umbrella myself which is why it doesn't look very good) so I decided to make a purple slime enemy. I three main concepts for the enemy:

- An enemy that follows the player instead of going back and forth.

- An enemy that randomizes it's speed every time it changes direction.

-An enemy that shoots purple lasers in front of it every 15 seconds or so.

I decided on the random speed slime because it felt more like a different type of slime than an entirely new enemy. I might add one of the other two at some point as an entirely different type of enemy. Let me know if I should and if so which one. I had also thought that it was cool how the player went at a different speed than the slimes and this added a whole new layer of balancing movement. It really made the slime focused world section a lot more challenging. I decided not to add any new enemies, because I didn't want to clutter up the world with them, so I won't add any until I add a new world section, but I replaced about 1/3 of the slimes with them on the desert floor, the slime focused level, and the top of the ice level. Let me know what I should add next.
